Last week I posted an ad on craigslist to find a voice to play the narrator. I received a lot of answer of people wanting to do it but so far I have only received on mp3.

I think the voice is too robotic and lacks emotion, but it is def something I can work with.

I am still expecting audio from 2 other people.

Also to my surprise, a lovely british actress contacted me asking me if I considered using a female voice for the part. Her voice sounds very sophisticated and I really want to test this out. I have scheduled with her a recording session at one of the parsons lab on Tuesday March 30th.

STOP MOTION ANIMATION

This weekend, I started to animate the clay.

Over the next couple of weeks I will be animating and combining my background with the short stop motion sequences. It try to stay true to my animatic, by following the motion of the character frame by frame.

Here are a few examples:

I have not yet tweaked the lightness, contrast or saturation. Starting April 7th, I will be working solely on After Effects to really integrate the clay inside the bgrounds i've created.

This is the newest animatic. The audio is still off, but the timing and visuals are pretty accurate. the subtitles show the final script.

This is the script as I would have presented it today:

The script is read like poetry by an older british voice.

ACT 1

(Mytosis scene, credits appear) (cells divide, zoom out) (zoom out to fetus shot) ("baby music" stars)

"Blue was born prematurely, (hospital shot)

on the first day of spring, of 1966. (blue shoots out into the arms of the doctor)

It was at a very young age, (blue bouncing down the street, stops by window)

that Blue quickly became, (shot from inside window) attracted to lingerie. (*** I still need to change that; I don't want to be too explicit***)

(Blue's bedroom, slow pan in) As the young boy Blue matured,

he became interested, in a certain type of literature. (close up of magazine)

(watching short scene of the movie) It is said that Blue became a man,

on his first movie date, with a girl, (looking at blowjob) Violet.

Since then Blue has never watched a film, (credits sequence)

without taking the time, to enjoy the credits.

Blue knew he was gifted, (random sex position with white background 1) a true philanthropist, (random sex position with white background 2)

It would only be fair, (random sex position with white background 3), to make it his carrier.

(porn scene #1) He brought his gift to the stage, for everyone to see;

and quickly rose to fame, with hits like (poster unroll on screen) 'She Blue Me'.

(at counter bar, straw in hand) Blue attended office parties, (does line of coke), and never gave it a rest;

(girl enters stage left) he'd line up opportunities, (jumps her, they both disappear under counter) in order to stay the best.

(door closed, shot from outside) Blue was a convivial man (blue opens door from inside), (blobs wearing masks revealed) and enjoyed company, (orgy scene)

he would host masquerades, to entertain his peers.

***Blue was at the pinnacle of his carrier, and was filming his best project.

But Blue would never make the premiere, due to an incident on set.***

ACT 2

(strip club shot) Grieving was a process, that Blue knew well how to tackle; (blue has sip of beer)

His recipe to success, hides (***other word?***) in burlesque spectacles.

(church scene) Because all throughout his life, Blue was a man of faith,

Almost every night, he would go and confess.

(outside in the alley, blue has sex with a prostitute against a dumpster, dumpster shakes) Blue rhymed with chivalry, a gentleman at the bar; (bar sign flickers)

He always paid for the bill, (blue throws bills at the hooker) and left generous pourboire. (and beats her with crowbar)

Blue found a new hobby; (cut to other alley scene, blue against wall) Cooking! Was his true talent. (holds a spoon to the lighter)

It took spoons full of practice, (with a pipe in his hand, Blue inhales the crack) but the result was quite potent. (exhale crack, Blue "deflates")

(*** so I'm still considering getting rid of this coming scene as it does not help the story, but it is funny, so I don't know...***)

(close up of Blue with a rope) At an attempt to conclude, (Blue ties the rope to the ceiling) this never-ending interlude;

blue turned to a ritual, (blue masturbates on stool, hung by his 'neck') that turned out to be fatal. (falls through the noose, lands flat head first)

(blackout)

ACT 3

(sound of heart monitor)

or not... (soft interrogative voice)

(fade/blur in, doctor close up looking at camera with flashlight) Blue woke up from his coma,

in the spring of 1995.

(blue sitting on stretcher, doctor with x-ray in his hand) The doctor told him to take it slow,

as he had just broken his bone. (doctor hold up x-ray to the light, reveals broken bone)

(blue bouncing down the street, wearing a suit) (***could be funny if it was the same street at in the beginning?***) With a new outlook on life, and a past now distant;

(slow pan in of Blubal bank building) Blue applied at Blubal Bank, and became their (Blue at desk) new consultant.

Blue quickly (Blue has sex on his desk with #1) climbed the ladder, doing what is familiar; (Blue has sex on his desk with #2)

And soon became CEO, (*** scene needed her, maybe funny would be Blue doing a presentation at board meeting showing two blobs going at it on the projector***) of the whole multinational

(Blue has sex on his nice CEO desk) Today Blue is the head, of the entire Blubal Bank;

And he has (Blue sitting at CEO's desk) become the first, biggest fucker in the world. (zoom into Blue's body) ("mytosis stage" zoom in) (two "cells" hump eachother)

*** So the next step here for me is to add the missing frames and time it to my own voice (with rough foley audio) into an animatic... to see if the cuts work. ***
